Your decision to attend MarJon should be based on your interest in our
courses and not in your ability to meet all school costs. MarJon believes
that no student should be denied the opportunity to pursue his or her
career interests because of the lack of financial resources. To assist
you in meeting your educational expenses, MarJon participates in several
financial assistance programs. In many cases, our financial aid office
awards "qualified" students a financial aid "package",
and will provide assistance in completing your financial aid forms during
your visit to MarJon. Packaging includes several types of financial assistance
available.
Financial Aid Programs:
Pell Grants:
The Pell Grant is for students who have not completed a bachelor's
degree. Eligibility for this grant is determined by the Federal government
based on the information provided on the Free Application For Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA). In approximately one week, the student will receive
a Student Aid Report (SAR). Please keep this document as the FA office
will receive this electronically. If any changes need to be made the FAO
will then need your SAR.

Distribution of Financial Aid
All student aid grants (PELL) are credited to your account each term
that you are enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program. All
loans (SUB FSL, UNSUB FSL, PLUS) are credited to your account as follows:
A loan is certified for 2-4 disbursements over the student's enrollment
period. The student must have been enrolled thirty (30) calendar days
and have 500 completed clock hours respectively in order to have funds
disbursed. The funds are credited to your account and any refund will
be issued within 7-14 calendar days. If a student applies for and receives
a loan, the full amount of instructional and equipment costs are due and
payable to MarJon upon receipt of the above mentioned loan.
Rights and Responsibilities of Financial Aid Recipients
You are eligible to receive financial aid as long as you remain in
good academic standing. All financial aid eligibility is reviewed for
academic progress the last Saturday of the month. Attendance in class
is mandatory for receiving financial aid payments. If you fail to maintain
satisfactory academic progress, you will be notified by the Director or
the Administrator. Financial aid will be suspended until satisfactory
academic progress is again achieved. A student's financial aid will be
reduced to reflect the enrollment status for those classes attended.
Transfer Students:
Students who attend any other cosmetology or technical school,
college or university must request a Financial Aid Transcript (FAT) from
each school attended. Financial assistance awards will not be distributed
until all FAT(s) have been received.
